The new two-story complex incorporated offices for the Versailles Police Department personnel including police officers and detectives. It also had evidence intake and processing areas, vehicle drive-through sallyport, men’s and women’s locker rooms, fitness room, community meeting room and a 911 dispatch area with related electronics and an exterior ground mounted radio tower.
The HVAC systems for this complex consisted of a heat recovery variable refrigerant volume system incorporating multiple indoor air handling units and related exterior condensing units. This system has the capability to simultaneously heat and cool all areas of the building. Outside ventilation air was provided to the building via a heat recovery make-up air unit.
Fire protection was provided by a wet pipe sprinkler system as well as a clean agent suppression system utilized to protect the 911 dispatch area and related electronics. The electrical systems consisted of creative lighting designs and energy-efficient lighting. The building incorporated a wireless data network infrastructure, digital CCTV camera system and 911 dispatch-related electronics. Emergency power was provided by a fuel oil-fired generator.
