The new GRC athletic facility consisted of two projects that incorporate a new gymnasium, football-soccer-track complex, tennis court, softball fields, football practice fields and a field house to serve student athletes. Collectively, the projects spanned 103,939 square feet and cost $25,914,183.
Mechanical and electrical features included new professional sound and video systems in the high school’s gym, LED lighting, new security features, geothermal water source heat pumps and high-volume low speed (HVLS) fans. The football stadium features LED sports lighting, decorative LED site lighting and an event size energy recovery system. The concourse areas, locker rooms, restrooms and concessions also include LED lighting and controls within the fieldhouse building.
