Named from two important neighborhoods in northwest Lexington – Coventry and Oakwood – Coventry Oak Elementary is one of two new elementary schools that opened in 2016 for Fayette County Public Schools.
The one-story school provides educational space for 650 students amongst a 74,000 square-foot footprint. The building houses 40 classrooms, two computer labs, a gymnasium, and a media center.
STW provided the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems design, including a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system, make-up air units, all-electric power, plumbing, full fire alarm, and suppression. The building is equipped with integrated video surveillance, intrusion detection, and an access control system. All LED lighting is incorporated using a networked lighting control system.
