In partnership with Western Kentucky University, Elizabethtown Community & Technical College and Sullivan University, Hardin County Schools developed a center to provide specially designed classes for students in seven pathways including Automotive Technology, Culinary Arts, Manufacturing, Engineering, Health Sciences, Information Technology and Welding.
The school’s design is considered to be Net Zero Ready with an energy use index (EUI) of 24. The building utilizes one hundred and four, 400’ vertical geothermal vertical bores tied into central station dedicated outside air units with demand control ventilation and variable speed water source heat pumps. The geothermal system is also used to generate domestic hot water.
