The mechanical system for these apartments had a combined focus of low maintenance and high efficiency equipment. Proper ventilation and thermostatic control were maintained while also ensuring low sound transmission throughout the apartments. Individual dwelling units were provided with one-to-one conditioning to allow individual metering of each apartment, while all common spaces were conditioned with inverter-driven (ultra high efficiency) equipment to minimize the operation cost for the building owner.
The plumbing system was designed to meet the current (stringent) Kentucky Plumbing Code. High attention to detail was provided in coordination with the Architect on fixture placement and locations of shut-off valves for the building maintenance staff. This design approach allowed the Owner to maintain all equipment in the least-intrusive manner for the building occupants.
