The HVAC design included a combination geothermal water-source heat pump serving the new addition and geothermal water-source variable refrigerant volume (VRV) system served the renovated portion. The facility has dedicated outside air energy recovery systems to serve ventilation requirements. Variable speed pumping is provided to reduce energy consumption. Building is complete with full Direct Digital Control Building Automation System.
The electrical design included a full LED light fixture package and programmable digital lighting control system with occupancy sensing, dimming, and receptacle plug load control devices to maximize energy savings. A new electrical service was provided to the classroom addition and back fed the existing portion of the building. The existing fire alarm system was expanded, and all new data cabling was installed. Localized classroom sound systems were provided in each classroom. Building security considerations included an interior and exterior video surveillance system and access controlled doors.
