In January 2018, the public-private partnership between Aramark Educational Services and Eastern Kentucky University opened a new dining facility in the heart of campus. The addition of this new building is part of an ongoing revitalization happening in EKU’s core academic campus. The three-story, 68,000 square-foot facility includes an 800-seat all-you-can-eat main dining hall, numerous retail dining options, private event area, multi-purpose spaces, small classrooms, and offices.
The facility is on the site formerly occupied by Case Hall. Prior to the demolition of Case Hall, STW developed and implemented a plan to provide uninterrupted utilities that were servicing nearby buildings. Domestic water, sanitary, natural gas, fire suppression, low voltage, electrical power were uninterrupted during demolition and all phases of construction, with the exception of scheduled shut-downs.
