Prior to a purchase by Lexington Public Library, STW evaluated the MEP systems of an existing 33,000 square foot Jaguar and Land Rover Dealership. The existing dealership’s location was perfect to accommodate a new branch for Lexington Public Library. Following the initial feasibility study, STW then provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for the library renovation. This impressive transformation excitedly opened in 2016 and serves the growing Hamburg and Richmond Road areas of Lexington.
The renovation offers new meeting spaces, computer rooms, administrative offices, and craft areas for patrons. A unique Makerspace room provides library guests a place for hands-on creations and skill-building. STW creatively re-used some existing ductwork and HVAC equipment to lower overall costs and preserve the budget for other improvements.
