What if your Engineer was also a Volunteer?

Shrout Tate Wilson Volunteers

Since 2012, Shrout Tate Wilson employees have served as literacy coaches for students at Williams Wells Brown Elementary School. WWB is one of the lowest performing schools in the state. As our neighbor to our Lexington office, STW wanted to help.

Working with Partnership for Better Schools, STW employees are trained as One to One Reading volunteers to help improve student achievement. Each week during the school year, STW’s engineers and staff show up to take an interest in their student and help develop reading skills. That’s over 360 hours per year of reading fun and mentorship time!

Our students gift us laughter, remind us of the importance of an hour, and a refresh our perspective on what really matters. And somewhere within all they give us, we help them to discover reading confidence.
